Ghaith is a principal of PLC Fire Safety Solutions where he currently serves in the role of President. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering from McMaster University in Chemical Engineering, as well as professional engineering designations in Ontario and Manitoba. Ghaith has 20 years of experience in fire and life safety engineering consulting primarily focused on fire hazard assessments, code and intent analysis, development of compliance alternatives, and review of building and fire safety system designs.
V.P. Engineering Services
Raja is a principal of PLC Fire Safety Solutions where he currently serves in the role of VP Engineering Services. He has a Master’s Degree in Project Management and is a registered Project Management Professional with the Project Management Institute. He possesses the project management skills necessary to execute contracts efficiently and professionally. Raja has led and successfully delivered projects for nuclear facilities across Canada.
V.P. Business Development
Rudy is a principal of PLC Fire Safety Solutions where he currently serves in the role of VP Business Development. He is an experienced Senior Fire Officer with an extensive background in industrial and municipal fire protection. Rudy has held the position of Fire Chief at multiple organizations and municipalities. His knowledge of and experience in completing needs analyses, assessments and audits for emergency response teams, as well as fire protection programs, emergency plans, and pre-fire plans is extremely valuable to our team.
Senior Technical Team
Lyle is a principal of PLC Fire Safety Solutions where he currently serves in the role of Senior Technical Specialist. He received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan and is a registered Professional Engineer in four Canadian provinces. Throughout his professional career, Lyle has been involved in the application of codes and standards for the fire and life safety of buildings and industrial facilities, and the design of fire protection systems. In the past 25 years, his activities have also included fire related assessments of various types of nuclear facilities including health care facilities, power generating facilities, uranium mines and processing facilities, and linear accelerators. Lyle is a member of the Underwriters’ Laboratories of Canada Committee on Fire Tests and has been a member Canadian Commission on Building and Fire Codes’ Standing Committee on Fire Protection and Standing Committee on Use and Egress.
Mohamed is a principal of PLC Fire Safety Solutions where he currently serves as a Senior Technical Specialist. He holds a Master’s Degree in Fire Protection Engineering from the University of Maryland and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). He has a thorough understanding of building codes and fire codes. His areas of expertise include code compliance reviews, the design of fire alarm and suppression systems, fire hazard assessment, fire modelling, evacuation modelling, the design of smoke control systems and fire and explosion investigations. Mohamed has experience managing fire protection engineering services for the oil and gas industry in the Middle East. He is presently a Principal (Special Expert) on the Technical Committees for NFPA 307, NFPA 12 and NFPA 12A.
Director Atlantic Canada
Grant has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Brunswick, and a Masters in Fire Protection Engineering from the University of Maryland. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the province of New Brunswick. Grant is registered as a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator through the National Association of Fire Investigators. His professional activities for the past 10 years have focused on fire protection engineering consulting for the industrial, commercial, residential and institutional industries. Fire protection engineering consulting experience includes code consulting, fire protection system designs, fire and explosion hazard assessments, fire and explosion investigations, and performance-based designs.
Senior Technical Specialist
Larry is a registered Professional Engineer in two Canadian provinces including Ontario. He is a Professional Engineer with over 40 years of experience in the design, installation, and commissioning of fire protection systems. Previously in his career, Larry worked as a designer, a design manager, and for many years he was a Corporate Engineer for Vipond Fire Protection Inc.
He has consulted on technical issues and fire protection codes and standards for engineers, architects, insurance representatives and building/fire department officials. Larry continues to be active on NFPA Technical Committees, and is presently a committee member for the following 3 standards:
- NFPA 25 – “Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems”;
- NFPA 13 – “Sprinkler System Installation Criteria and Sprinkler System Discharge Criteria”; and
- NFPA 24 – “Private Water Services”.
For the 2002, 2007 and 2010 editions of the NFPA’s Automatic Sprinkler Systems Handbook, Larry was responsible for the updates and edits to the chapter for Acceptance Testing.
